I wanted to share an interesting blog post from my friend, Tereina Stidd, at the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. In this recent post, she explores the fate of the Williamses, a family who made a modest fortune when a Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton was found on their property. As is often the case, now that both the parents have died, the children are fighting over the family fortune. While archaeologists might not find groundbreaking fossils in our clients’ backyards, this post is a good reminder of the importance of well-drafted estate documents.
