What is a trust?

A trust is a legal arrangement where property is held by one party for the benefit of another. The person who creates the trust is known as the Trustor. The Trustor transfers property into the trust and appoints a Trustee to manage it. The Trustor also sets the terms of the trust and names beneficiaries who will benefit from the assets held within it.
