At Clarity Legal Group® our practice is geared to represent entrepreneurs who are just starting up, still building, and those looking to transition out of their businesses. We focus on the whole enterprise and its owners. For some, this means helping you, as the business owner, manage your business to further values beyond only how much money you make.
The idea that people start business ventures for reasons not solely tied to making money is not new. It’s almost always been part of business. Our own motivations in starting Clarity Legal were as much about building a fresh environment for the practice of law that would redesign the way we relate to you as it was about the financial bottom line. Our motivation was in part the personal satisfaction derived from making a difference to the people we serve.
Sometimes you, as a business owner are motivated by larger social concerns — by purpose driven profits, concerns for the environment, or other community or social impacts — which resonate with you. Over time, laws relating to traditional for-profit business have made it harder to include social goals within the business enterprise without specific legal planning. If a business has investors, unless you have prepared in your legal documents, you may be forced to avoid actions that do not maximize financial profit. This is where we can assist in planning that allows your values the values to guide the enterprise.
The idea of “social entrepreneurship” has inspired a new generation of business leaders. Social mission and business acumen can occupy the same space. Private sector efficiencies can used to influence social change.
The truly wonderful thing about social entrepreneurship is that it can mean whatever you the entrepreneur wants it to mean. At Clarity Legal Group® we can help you define your goals and and put them into effect through corporate documentation, entity formation, assistance with financing transactions, employee relations, and business succession planning.
