Honoring Dignity at Life’s End: Supporting Hospice Care in Durham and Chapel Hill

At Clarity Legal Group, we believe that every stage of life deserves thoughtful care and dignity. That’s why we’re proud to be the underwriting sponsor of the 2025 Duke Hospice Gala, a special event that raises critical funds to support hospice care in Durham and Chapel Hill.

What Is Hospice Care?

Hospice care is a specialized form of healthcare that supports individuals in the final stages of a serious illness. Rather than focusing on curing the illness, hospice emphasizes comfort, dignity, and quality of life. It supports not only the person who is ill, but also their family and caregivers.

This compassionate care includes:

  • Pain and symptom management
  • Emotional and spiritual support
  • Respite for family caregivers
  • Guidance through end-of-life decisions

Hospice care often takes place in the patient’s home, but can also occur in hospice centers, nursing homes, or hospitals. It’s available to anyone with a terminal diagnosis and a life expectancy of six months or less, when curative treatment is no longer the goal.

Duke Hospice: A Trusted Community Partner

Duke Hospice, part of Duke Health, has served the people of Durham, Orange, Wake, Chatham, and surrounding counties for decades. Their team of skilled nurses, social workers, counselors, and volunteers brings comfort and peace to families during one of life’s most challenging transitions.

Whether helping a spouse cope with loss or guiding adult children through difficult choices, Duke Hospice stands as a pillar of compassionate care.

Why Hospice Care in Durham and Chapel Hill Matters to Us

As an estate planning and elder law firm, we walk with families during moments of vulnerability and transition. We understand the emotional weight of planning for the end of life, and the peace that comes from being prepared.

Many of our clients face decisions about hospice, long-term care, and how to ensure that their wishes are honored. We regularly guide families through advance healthcare directives, Health Care Powers of Attorney, and planning that allows loved ones to focus on what matters most: each other.

Joining Together for Compassionate Care

The Duke Hospice Gala is more than an event; it’s a celebration of life, compassion, and the power of community. We are honored to stand alongside Duke Hospice in their mission to serve with empathy, professionalism, and grace.

We invite our friends and clients throughout the Triangle area to support hospice care in Durham, Chapel Hill, and beyond. You can support Duke Hospice by attending the Gala, donating, or simply learning more about how this care transforms the end-of-life journey.

Let’s Talk About Planning with Purpose

If you have questions about how estate planning supports health care decisions and protects your loved ones, we’re here to help. Contact a Durham estate planning attorney at Clarity Legal Group.
