COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, has been a challenge confronting countries around the world. The disruptions from the social distancing required to fight the virus have been felt by people around the world. As we mark passing holidays, we reflect on the importance of family. Learn how to share time with family during this pandemic and tackle tasks such as Estate Planning.

As we begin to open up non-essential businesses and some of us begin to spend more time outside of our homes, remember that this opening up is not an indication that you are at reduced risk for contracting the virus. In North Carolina, our staged opening is basically predicated on two criteria: (1) the assessment that the percentage of us currently infected is not going up, but has in fact slightly reduced; and (2) that there are enough spots in the ICU for you if you get seriously ill from the virus. Not exactly heartening, but we are in a difficult place, and our governmental officials and we as individuals have essentially been put in the position of engaging in constant risk assessment.

Most of us, I think, are assessing the risk not just to ourselves and our immediately bubble, but to all those we encounter. At Clarity Legal Group, we are looking after each other — our team members — our clients, prospective clients, and others who might have questions about challenging legal issues. We have adapted, and established new practices, some of which I think we will continue long after the threat of the Covid-19 is gone.
